Corporate Social Investment

The Efficient Group is committed to and passionate about making a contribution to economic and social development through active participation in community-enrichment projects.

Our social responsibility programme encourages involvement from all of our employees, and we strive to deliver life-changing, sustainable benefits to those in need. In the process of doing so, we have formed lasting relationships with several local non-profit organisations to provide essential resources and services.

INITIATIVES

Footprints 4 Sam

We strongly believe in uplifting the communities in which we operate. To this end, we donate to local organisations that look to make a positive impact. One of those organisations is the Footprints 4 Sam Trust.

We are proud to have made a very meaningful contribution to this Trust by co-sponsoring two minibuses known as the Super Sam Hero Vehicles. These vehicles transport chronically ill, underprivileged children and their families to their follow-up clinics and appointments in Cape Town. The Super Sam Hero Vehicles are not taxis or ambulances – they are a specialised chauffeur service, offering an essential service to needy families. This service aims to ensure that no child is alone when in hospital for long periods of time, or, even worse, at the end of their life. The vehicles are also there to take parents’ home with dignity should their child pass away. The Trust aims to take this initiative nationwide.

Health and safety

We are committed to ensuring equitable and fair people management practices that promote the well-being of all of our employees. Our strategy on occupational health is to provide a safe work environment with the development of safety, health, and environment (SHE) representatives, which can build the foundation for a culture of safety in which worker safety is central for all employees. Formal joint management/worker SHE Committees represent our employees. We have SHE representatives in all of our offices across South Africa.

Employee Relief Fund

In March 2020, the Group established an Employee Relief Fund, as the Group management was sensitive to the potential negative financial impact that the deteriorating economic environment could have on Efficient employees, their immediate families, and their dependants. The Fund provides financial assistance to employees in partnership with Care Protect Invest South Africa (“CPISA”). The Group contributes monthly to the Fund, and donations from employees and the wider community are also encouraged.
